Safeguarding Adults, MCA & DOLS Training

These sessions are for Safeguarding Adults and Mental Capacity Act Training at Level 3, in order to satisfy the requirements under the Care Act of the CCG, CQC and NHS England. They are being held at the following venues on the dates shown. The sessions will take place from 13:00 until 17:00.

Safeguarding Children:

Do you need Level 3 Safeguarding Children Training  for your role?  (For example, GPs, Safeguarding Lead GPs, Practice Nurses, Midwives).

Its recommended that clinicians requiring Level 3 Safeguarding Children Training should do an element of ‘face to face’ training(Intercollegiate  Document 2014).
Sessions delivering Safeguarding Children Training at Level 3 are being held on the below dates and times.

Prevent (WRAP) & Domestic Abuse Training

Prevent, Domestic Abuse, Safeguarding Adults Level 3 training can all contribute to the total hours required for Safeguarding Adults competencies at Level 3 for GPs and other clinical staff over the three year period.

In addition, training in Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards will assist in evidencing the GP practices compliance with Regulation 11 of the Health&Social Care Act 2008, Regulations 2014. A further tranche of training in MCA/DoLS will be launched in the New Year, along with a link to a protocol which practices may wish to download to EMIS in order to evidence compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
 
The Prevent and Domestic Abuse sessions are schedules to take place from 13:00-17:00. If you have already attended Domestic Abuse Training you may wish to leave after the Prevent Training. Please indicate when booking which session/s you will be attending.

*Please note that WRAP (Prevent) training can be completed either face-to-face, by attending one of the below sessions or via an e-Learning module.

MJOG Training 

Since the initial role out of MJOG some practices will have new members of staff who have not had training, or you may just want a refresher. There are some free webinars which you can use, and practices can register for as many of these different sessions as they like. Training webinars can be accessed here.

St Richard's Information Session - Understanding Pain and it's Management

St Richard’s will be launching their first Living Well information session, Understanding Pain and its Management - An introduction, on Tuesday, 29 January from 3.30 - 4.30pm at the hospice in Wildwood Drive, Worcester.

This free session is open to people with a serious progressive illness and their carers. No referral is needed and you do not need to be already under the care of St Richard's to attend. This is a short group session aiming to help people understand what pain is and what options are available to help them live and cope with it.

St Richard’s asks that individuals coming to the group are independent or can be independent with the support of a family member or friend. This is a group session and will not include one-to-one medical advice or have clinical support available.

Improving Cancer Services  

An event will take place on 31 January at Prospect View Medical Centre, Malvern from 1-3.30pm.

The event is aimed at people who have either themselves or who know somebody who has been affected by cancer to come along and hear what the plans are to improve services in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Resilience in General Practice Event

The free half day Resilience in General Practice Event will take place on 13 February at The Crown and Sandys.

The event is open to GPs and practice staff looking at strategies and tools to help organisations and their staff to adapt and stay motivated.
