PCE 19/20 Engagement and Feedback

Practices will have received, via an email to practice managers, a letter along with a copy of the draft PCE 19/20 proposed service specification.

Please use this Survey Monkey to provide feedback at your earliest opportunity and no later than 1 March 2019.

18/19 PCE End Of Life Audit

The PCE Contract requires practices to undertake an End of Life audit, therefore we are requesting that practices review 20 deaths since 1 April 2018.

The CCG want to make this process as easy as possible for practices and Ray Giles has developed an EMIS search which will:

  • Export details to an excel spread sheet.
  • Automatically sort the patients so that the date of deaths during the period are in order to allow the latest 20 patients (or up to 20 patients) in the range to be reviewed.
  • Distribute the deaths into the 2 audit sheets depending on whether they were palliative or not.

The search and instructions will be sent to practice managers and the audit will need to be completed by the end of March.

The CCG will be asking practices to reflect on their audit and provide a brief update on learning as part of the next IQSP visit.

Save The Date: DGPFG ICT Event, 3 April 9.30am – 1pm

Following feedback from those that attended the Digital Practice of the Future Group (DGPFG) breakout session on the 29 November, we are pleased to announce that we are in the process of arranging an ICT event on the 3 April, 9.30 – 1pm to further showcase the CCG/CSU ICT programme of work. This event is targeted at GP’s, Practice Managers and Practice IT staff. The agenda is still being finalised, but will include updates from Clarity TeamNet, Online Consultations, Telephony, Mjog Smart, HSCN and Windows 10. A definite agenda and details of venue will follow shortly.

EMIS user groups

The first round of EMIS User Groups took place in November and received a positive response with attendees asking that they become an established part of the CCG/practice IT agenda and link with the DGPFG. The next countywide meetings will be arranged for the end of March and practices will be given the opportunity to shape the agenda to ensure key issues are raised and addressed. EMIS will be there to provide system updates, but there will also be an opportunity for practices to share any EMIS related locally developed tools or tips that other practices can adopt or may find useful.

Gynaecology Pathway Reminder

Please can all staff familiarise themselves with our Gynaecology Pathway Document. Initially released at the end of 2018, this document gives step by step information on how to assess and support Gynaecological Issues, as well as linking to further resources, proforma and guidance.

This document is being raised during the current IQSP meetings, Easy access to the gynae pathway is part of your IQSP requirement.

Access the file via: bit.ly/worcsgynae

To ensure that this document is always up-to-date we advise staff to bookmark or store this link, rather than the file itself, meaning you always re-download the most current version.

A guide on how to create a desktop shortcut and EMIS protocol for the link can be found here. An example EMIS zip is also available here.

If you're having trouble accessing/storing this link please contact the primary care team who will be happy to help.

Many congratulations to all at Stanmore House Surgery who have just received a rating of "Outstanding" from the CQC!

Huge praise to all involved!

Polish Domestic Abuse Resources

The link below is for a website in Polish which provides information on domestic abuse.

www.nowezyciebezprzemocy.co.uk/

The website provides good content and explanation about domestic abuse, how to recognise it and how children are affected by it. The translation is good and accurate and there are also two life cases where victims share their stories.

Please would you pass this link on to anyone who becomes involved with Polish victims of domestic abuse.

The event will take place on 20 February, Evesham Town Hall from 10am-3pm.

Please download the poster to promote the event to patients you believe may benefit by attending, for more information contact Carolyn Pym at Abbey Medical Practice on 01386 761111.

Primary care user group

NHS England’s Primary Care communications team is aiming to develop a user group of GPs and practice staff so they can get feedback on communications materials.

The team says:

“We know how busy general practice colleagues are so the amount of time involved will be minimal. There is no obligation to respond every time and everything will be done by email with no requirement to attend meetings or workshops.

“Examples of what we might send could include online adverts, posters or leaflets. A recent example would be the animation about the GP Forward View. In this case, we would have sent across the animation and asked some quick questions around whether you thought it got the information across well and how it could be improved.”

If you are interested in joining the user group, please contact: rosemary.preston-cook@nhs.net
